Health Guidelines and Tips

  • Students that are ill should not be sent to school. Students with a fever (100.4F or greater) or obvious signs of illness (such as nausea, vomiting or diarrhea) must stay at home until their temperature is normal (98.6F) and/or until all other symptoms subside.

If a student becomes ill and/or injured during the school day, parents will be contacted to pick them up. Students will be transported to the hospital by ambulance in the event of an emergency. Parents will be notified as soon as possible. Please be certain that you inform the school nurse anytime there is a change in the telephone numbers (home/work/cell).

    Emergency Action Plans
If your student has a chronic, potentially life-threatening health condition (i.e., asthma, severe allergy, bee sting allergy, diabetes, seizures) please request an Emergency Action Plan from your school’s health office. Call the school nurse prior to school starting or anytime your child’s health condition changes to ensure that appropriate health/safety measures are developed and implemented for your student. Please see the Health Forms page for several student action plan forms.
