However, the biggest situation currently is whether the Bears should give running back Matt Forte another contract extension. 

The eight-year veteran is entering the final season of his four-year $32 million extension he received in 2012. Forte is the sixth highest paid running back in the league; with elite players like Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch and LeSean McCoy above him. 

Since entering the league in 2008, he ranks third in the NFL in overall yards from scrimmage, rushing yards and receiving yards among all running backs. He also was the first running back in the league's history to have 900 rushing yards and 400 receiving yards in his first four seasons. In fact, Forte ranks second in the Bears' history for yards from scrimmage and rushing yards; while being ranked fifth in rushing touchdowns.

We get it, Forte is one of the most successful running backs to ever wear the orange and blue, but letting him walk after this season is the best decision the organization can make.

First off, Forte will be turning 30 years old this December; which is the equivalent to 40 in running back age. While he has shown no sign of decline, it's bound to happen sooner or later. Why take the risk of a decline while you're paying him top notch money?

Forte does a great job of limiting contact and using the necessary precautions in order to avoid injury, that's probably why he still has some juice left. Unfortunately, Forte still hasn't proven he can get that extra yard for you, especially in close quarter situations between the guards.

It's clear that the former second-round pick wants to be paid like an elite running back, which is respectable considering his resume, but the Bears simply can't afford to pay him or take the risk.

Jeffery probably doesn't deserve the extension over Forte, but with Kevin White still learning the ropes, a number one receiver is desperately needed. Although, the Bears' front office has made it clear that they aren't sold on re-signing Jeffery either.

Seeing the Bears have prepared for this moment to replace Forte by drafting two running backs in the last two years, those younger players can pick up his workload.

Jeremy Langford and Ka'Deem Carey were both proven college players who look to be more than capable of being an effective duo. Head coach John Fox loves to use more than one running back.

Furthermore, the Bears have made multiple one-year deals this off-season, what happens when those players exceed expectations and thrive with Chicago? With tons of money tied to Cutler and Forte, should they extend him, the Bears will have no choice but to let most of those players walk as they get paid elsewhere.

There are many other needs on the team other than running back, especially on the defensive side. Chicago wouldn't be able to make formidable upgrades to the team if that money goes to a 29-year old veteran running back.

Forte has brought a stable rushing attack to the Bears' offense for years, and has been a great teammate in the locker room. However, it would be in the best interest for the Bears' to not re-sign him.

  On my old blog I wrote about why an NHL franchise would work in Sin City. One of the things I threw out was the relocation of an existing team to Las Vegas if the NHL didn’t want to expand.  One team I brought up was indeed the Arizona Coyotes and for good reason. Las Vegas has wanted a pro franchise for years and right now they’re closer than ever to gaining one.  The Coyotes, In my opinion, would be in a completely better situation in Vegas with a brand new arena, very good fan support, and would be the big ticket in town due to being the only Pro Sports franchise there.  You must be wondering why Las Vegas? Why would the Coyotes be a good fit compared to Arizona? Well one the city of Las Vegas including their government would welcome them with open arms. In the council meeting in Glendale, AZ it felt as if they were abandoning the franchise. Also how they treated the fans in that room was very wrong and for any franchise, it’s not deserving of that at all. It can create a very toxic situation which is something the Coyotes do not need at all. Glendale basically said told them that they don’t want them anymore. Another reason being the fact that the Coyotes and the NHL can gain more money in Las Vegas than keeping them in Glendale. The Coyotes were losing money in Glendale which forced them into bankruptcy. Seeing that they were locked into a new lease there was some hope that this would get turned around but here we are. The Coyotes can make maybe twice as much in Las Vegas than Arizona which would be more beneficial to the franchise at the moment.  Fan support in Vegas is also a huge key for the Coyotes franchise. No offense to Arizona, because I know they have some good fans out there, but the franchise hasn’t received a lot of good fan support from the locals in the last few years. You can blame losing for the low attendance and bad fan support but even in the years where they made playoffs and advanced to the Western Conference Finals, the fan support just wasn’t there. Las Vegas has already sold 11,000 future season tickets for those who placed a deposit for them in the new Las Vegas Arena.  The Coyotes would also be the ONLY pro franchise in Las Vegas which would automatically make them THE Team in the city night in and night out. Coyotes have a young core of players that the city can get behind. This franchise is in need of some good support and the people of Las Vegas would really get behind this team. Overall the Coyotes are in need of a fresh start after the last few years of this debacle in Glendale and in Arizona. Las Vegas is that place where the Coyotes franchise can get a new breath of air and a jolt of energy that will help them for years going forward. I look at it like this, It gives the Coyotes greener pastures where the franchise will make money, get the support they deserve, and help them on the Ice and it gives a growing city like Las Vegas that pro sports team that they’ve been looking for.

  I do hope the Coyotes figure something out in Arizona. The way they were treated in Glendale was not right by any means and the fans of the Coyotes do not deserve that at all. They were basically told that they didn’t matter and the team was nothing in Glendale. I hope the Coyotes do figure something out in Arizona and if they can then that’s great but right now they have to get out of there. Whether they do it this year or the end of next year they have to get out of Glendale and it’s best for the future of the franchise to get out of Arizona. I know the NHL has tried to grow the sport but Arizona hasn't really worked out. Las Vegas may be the place that helps the Coyotes thrives in the future.
